I'm sorry it has been so long since I last posted a new blog. Life turned out to be really crazy since my last post. Cameron and I went home to Oregon to have the baby. Shon made it home right before I was due. I was due on October 28th, 2010 and that is the day Jack was born! I woke up early feeling terrible and I decided to climb back in bed to cry about it and cuddle with Shon. Just then my water broke, 7:30 AM on the dot. We called my mom to come get us and started getting ready to go. Contractions started soon, but they were pretty mild. Leah took Cameron for us. Mom got there by 8 AM, but it seemed like an eternity and my contractions were becoming painful. It was morning rush hour and we had to turn around and take country roads to the hospital. This was a good idea in theory, but the bumps in the road were not kind to me. We arrived at the hospital by 8:30. The doctor was not in, she was rushing in early to work for me but there was traffic. The doctor on call wanted to go perform a c-section for another mother, but I was protesting that I could have the baby very soon. Thankfully Dr. Olds arrived in plenty of time. Shon and Mom were very helpful and supportive and I fell in love with my nurse Jeri. I hated the nurse who was putting in my IV and I was not the nicest pregnant lady she dealt with that day. I don't like being stabbed repeatedly in my arm and hands when I am in the middle of contractions, who knew?! Once the IV was installed I just tried to stay comfortable. As long as I was not lying in bed it was bearable. I had time to put on a playlist and set up some flame-less candles for atmosphere. It wasn't long before it was time to push. Jack was born quickly at 10:30 on the dot, exactly 3 hours from my water breaking. He weighed 8lbs 4oz and his full name is Jack Emrys Webber. He had a head full of dark curls and was so handsome. It was so nice to have Mom and Shon there. I felt really great after a little bit. We had so many visitors, such a dramatic difference from having Cameron in Hawaii. I really felt like this time around I got the birth I wanted. Shon spent about 3 weeks in Oregon before he had to get back to work. I stayed in Oregon till Jack was about 6 weeks old. Leah helped us get back on the plane and got to visit us in Hawaii for a bit, which was very fun. Just like old times plus two rugrats. :) After Leah left I had to get used to handling both boys on my own when Shon was working. That was an adventure but things feel routine now and not so hard. The boys are growing so fast and they miss all you Oregonians, but skype helps. I will try to post more often now that Jack is sleeping through the night I feel like I can accomplish more things. I still have even more pictures to share from our trip to Oregon, if you can believe that! Plus many videos, but I need to go to bed so I'll have to cut this one short for now.
